Issues in Malaysia
Public transportation was made to reduce traffic jams and making it more efficient and faster to reach your destination. However, many Malaysians disagree. A survey was taken and it was revealed that Malaysia's Public Transport system is slow, has poor service and is too pricey.
Not just public transport, Malaysians also complained about not having available parking lots wherever they go, they usually have to drive several rounds just to find a parking. They also said that, be it whether going to work or going home, they're usually stuck in traffic jams. This can result into car accidents ( Did you know that Malaysia death rates on roads is the 3rd highest globally? ) and causing more pollution to the environment. Why? Because Malaysia transportations are used with fossil fuels.
Resource is essential to the way we live. Whether it is in form of oil, gasoline or electricity, a country’s prosperity and welfare depends on having access to reliable and secure supplies of energy resources at affordable prices. However, it is taken granted by many. Having dependent mainly on oil and gas for half a century, Malaysia has start to realize the importance to adopt renewable resources in reviewed its energy mix and continuously reviewed its energy to policy ensure sustainable energy supply and security .
It is difficult to estimate how long the above fuels will last but they are not sustainable economically or environmentally. Use of energy (mostly fossil fuels) releases greenhouse gases that absorb sunlight during daytime and prevents release of terrestrial radiation at night, leading to warming of the atmosphere.
According to International Energy Agency (IEA) in order to keep the world below an average 2⁰c temperature increase which has catastrophic consequences, we need to leave 80% of all fossil fuels in the ground fossil fuels are not considered as sustainable energy resources because they are limited and can cause immense pollution by releasing harm self-gases. Fossil fuels normally include coal, oil and natural gas.
